The Hydroclimatic Atlas presents a synthesis of the impact of climate change on the Southern Québec water regime by 2050. The Atlas is principally meant for actors in the field of water and is intended as support for the implementation of measures for adapting to climate change.
The 2015 update of the Atlas now includes data from the Gaspésie, Côte-Nord and part of the James Bay regions and also incorporates the most recent generation of climate simulations proposed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). A scientific committee was set up to guide the development and improvement of modeling practices needed for producing the hydrological projections on which information shown in the Atlas is founded.
